📣 Week 3 of Cardinal Summer was full of hands-on fun and creative learning! 🎓 In Enrichment, students became animal experts—researching, reading, and presenting their work Wax Museum-style. They also tackled STEM challenges inspired by storybooks! 🎉 In Cardinal Camps, students had a blast in sessions like Fun on the Farm 🚜, Legomania 🧱, Flower Frenzy 🌸, Scrapbooking ✂️, and Dash Robots 🤖! 📸 The camps shown below are just a few of the many amazing experiences offered this week—we’re highlighting the ones we were able to capture in photos! We’re so proud of our Cardinals for making the most of every day! ❤️🐦

Week 2 of Cardinal Camps at Crete Elementary was full of fun, movement, and creativity! 🌱🏀🤖 Campers planted seeds, played basketball, danced with robots, enjoyed classic card games, explored stories in Dr. Seuss Camp, and wowed us in the Talent Show! 🎭📚 We’re halfway through and already so impressed by the energy and excitement our students bring each day! ❤️

🚀 Week 1 of Cardinal Scholars and Cardinal Camps is in the books—and what a week it was! Here's a snapshot of just a few things that went on last week. 📚 In Enrichment, students put their creativity and writing skills to the test by designing their own playgrounds and writing persuasive letters to convince an imaginary principal their design was the best. 🎨 At Math Mania Camp, learning came to life through hands-on activities that combined math, art, and play! 🌌 And in Space Camp, students explored the wonders of the galaxy, wrapping up the week with a planetarium experience—complete with an inflatable igloo and star-filled projections! We’re just getting started—can’t wait to see what Week 2 brings! ❤️

A big THANK YOU to the Crete High School FFA members and their sponsor, Ms. Merza, for helping make our Preschool Farm Day on Friday, May 2 such a success! 🐄🚜 Our preschoolers had a blast seeing real farm equipment up close and meeting the animals—what a fun and memorable way to learn about life on the farm! We appreciate your time, effort, and enthusiasm in sharing the world of agriculture with our youngest learners. 🌾💙

Dear Families, This afternoon at 2:00 PM, our school conducted a lockdown drill as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure student safety. During the drill, staff and students practiced the “Lock, Lights, Out of Sight” procedures, which include locking doors, turning off lights, and moving out of view. Everyone did a great job following directions calmly and quickly. We practice these safety procedures so that in the unlikely event of an emergency, students and staff are prepared and know what to do. If you have any questions about today’s drill or our safety protocols, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your building principal. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school a safe place to learn and grow.

Happy Administrative Professionals Day! 💐 Today we’re celebrating two of Crete Elementary’s unsung heroes — Mrs. Lupe Avelar and Mrs. Mayra Vazquez Luna! These incredible women are the heart of our front office. Whether they're answering phones, translating with their bilingual superpowers, helping families, comforting students, or jumping in to help with whatever the day throws their way — they do it all with grace, kindness, and a smile. Thank you, Mrs. Avelar and Mrs. Vazquez Luna, for keeping things running smoothly and making Crete Elementary feel like home. We’re so lucky to have you! ❤️

Dear CES Families, This is a reminder that Monday, April 21st is our Remote Learning Day. Activity packets were sent home today with all students in Preschool through 2nd Grade.
